During the exhibition, everyone will be able to explore the possibilities of using a telepresence robot, try controlling it remotely, and get advice on using it in the teaching process in the classroom.
The latest technological advancements have become an integral part of our educational system, providing students with extensive and innovative opportunities to effectively engage in the learning process. These solutions offer new and exciting ways to grasp the assigned material and develop skills. Technological innovations are particularly crucial for those students who face obstacles, such as illness or other circumstances, in attending regular on-site educational institutions. Digital technologies assist students in maintaining connections with classmates, enabling them to successfully master the study material and easing their return to the school environment.
While current studies on the application of telepresence robots in educational institutions offer valuable insights, they only partially capture the experiences of all involved parties – the student, classmate, and educator. Therefore, it is imperative to conduct more detailed research to provide school leadership and educators with specific and well-founded recommendations and support for incorporating telepresence robots into the educational process.
The National Centre for Education Content is actively participating in the European-level “Erasmus+” project “Inclass – Using Telepresence Robots in the Classroom,” whose main objective is to enhance the inclusion of remote-learning students in the educational process. Additionally, it aims to foster the exchange of intercultural experiences and facilitate foreign language acquisition through the use of presence robots.
National Centre for Education (NCE) is a public administration institution directly subordinated to the Minister of Education and Science.
NCE primary functions are to develop curriculum for pre-school, basic and general secondary education and vocational education, to provide unite development of national examinations in basic education, general secondary education and vocational education, to coordinate interest-related education system and implement support activities for development of learners’ personalities and talents, to organize Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Celebration, to coordinate teacher continuing professional development activities.
