Financial and blockchain technology news at RIGA COMM 2018!

2018-10-09

Payment solutions, online banking, online shopping, money transfers are just part of the financial technology that businesses and consumers use on a day-to-day basis. However, what opportunities in the banking sector and business do innovations offer today and tomorrow? Find it out at the FinTech Conference, 11 October, and the Blockchain Conference, 12 October, during the RIGA COMM 2018 at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre.

Financial engineering industry has evolved very rapidly in recent years thus defying classical financial services. Currently, new opportunities for both consumers and businesses are being offered (contactless payments using payment cards, smartphones and payment bracelets). The first RIGA COMM Financial Technology Conference to be held on the Citadele Fintech Stage will offer expert information on convenience of touch-to-pay, Fintech tools, faster and better financial services.

“The financial engineering industry is developing very rapidly. If until recently, a chance to pay for purchases with smartphones or bracelets seemed a rather distant reality, then now, it is a reality for many of us. Citadele is providing these solutions to Latvian residents for a year already. On Thursday, on and at the Citadele FinTech Stage, everybody will have an opportunity to see and try out both already available innovative payment methods and those coming with the development of remote identification and the use of biometrics in payments in the nearest future,” tells Mārtiņš Bērziņš, Head of Citadele E-Business Division.

Martins Bērziņš, Citadele E-Business Division, will tell about the remote identification, banking opportunities for citizens and businesses, future payments, opportunities provided by mobile applications and e-commerce.

The experts in the section “Financial Services on the Go / Remote Identification of Customers” will introduce new regulation of remote identification of customers and new business opportunities.

“The Finance Latvia Association is actively discussing the new regulation of remote identification of customers, as it will facilitate faster and wider availability of different financial services, will allow the use of a range of financial services outside the usual customer service areas and will promote Latvia’s international competitiveness,” points out Sanda Liepiņa, CEO of the Association.

It will address the following topics – “New regulation – New Opportunities”, “Promotion of Financial Services Exports” and “An Easier Way to Provide Financial Services outside Cities”. The event will be attended by Jānis Bokta, CEO of LVRTC, Jānis Skrastiņš, Chairman of the Latvian Sworn Notaries Council, Laima Letiņa, Deputy Head of the Legal Department at the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia, Mārtiņš Bērziņš, Head of E-Business Division at Citadele Bank, Sigita Kotlere, Head of Retail Client Servicing at BlueOrange Bank, Lucas Kwiatkowski, CEO at Fully Verified and other speakers.

Blockchain Conference

Liza’s point of view on cryptocurrency development, availability and prediction in the ICO field in the coming years is worth hearing!
